Acupuncture – can it really help me to quit smoking? And is it also good for neck pain?

by admin on January 6, 2010

I have tried everything to quit and nothing works – problem is I don’t really want to quit. Do I need willpower with acupuncture? Also I get a lot of tension at the base of my skull and neck. Can acupuncture help with this?

Acupuncture for any sort of addiction works as a support mechanism. It is not magic. It is not going to make you want to quit.

You admit that you do not want to quit. Like any other addict, no treatment is going to make you quit.

Acupuncture will help muscle tension in the neck. You would be further ahead focusing on getting this treated, over smoking cessation for which you are not ready to commit to.

Maybe your lack of will power would change if you consider what harm you are doing to your body whilst puffing the evil weed. You are ingesting into your body thousands of harmful chemicals which WILL shorten your life. Your demise will not be pleasant as you will probably be in considerable pain for a long time before you die. On a lesser note also consider how much money you will have available for other things if you stop. If you need help go to see your GP. One of our local GP’s actually tells people they will die soon if they don’t stop NOW! Give it up. Good luck.

Yes they do work like magic, I must say here if you have the willpower you can do it without any help,, I did it myself with willpower that is. Goodluck

if your dr said that your on your last legs, you would soon have the will power. nothing ventured nothing gained.

This is a dumb stupid question. Of course nothing works, because you don’t want it to.

You need to set the intention to quit and then follow through with action. Acupuncture will work, but you have to make a conscious choice as well. Acupuncture or anything else is no use at all if you keep putting a f a g in your mouth. Do you think it will magically stop you against your will each time you choose to walk into a shop and buy a pack? No, it will only work with you. Talk yourself into the fact that you are going to quit and one day you will just do it and never look back. The same willpower that keeps you smoking can be redirected.

It can ONLY come from you, so if you don’t want to, then hey, guess what? It is that simple.

Stretching and moving your neck might help your tension as well. Both issues are probably related as you mention them together, but to solve that would require personal sessions.

Remember, YOU have to work WITH it.

All the best.
